Chainsaw Man Movie Delivers Stunning Animation and $158M Box Office Success

But Does It Hold Up Against Other Anime Movies?

On October 24th, the new Chainsaw Man Movie, “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc,” released worldwide after two years of waiting. Ever since the movie was released, it broke many records and grossed over $158 million worldwide and counting, becoming the fifth highest grossing anime movies in North America.

In the movie, the main character Denji meets a girl called Reze who Denji falls for, but Reze is secretly the Bomb Devil hybrid sent to kill Denji and take his chainsaw heart. The story was supported by some of the best animation in recent years.

”The animation was amazing. The budget of the movie was mostly used during fight scenes and really fluid” – Charlie from 11th grade

AFans of the chainsaw man anime explained that the reason why the movie had such good animation was because of how high the budget was for the movie. The movie’s budget was over $4.1 million in US dollars. However, some people don’t like the quality of the movie that much.

”I don’t think the movie will hold up against other anime movies.I feel like other movies like  or the Demon Slayer will outdo it” –  Anthony Ramos from 11th grade

While the Chainsaw Man movie is doing well grossing wise, the Demon Slayer movie, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle,” released in Japan on July 18th, meaning this movie had a three month head start, leading to the movie grossing over $600 million over time after being released worldwide.

”Jujustu Kaisen is a good contender to outdo the chainsaw man movie but story wise chainsaw man will be better.” – Charlie from 11th grade
